Scarlatti VL 1/2 Violin

At an accessible price, this pack includes a 1/2-sized Scarlatti VL violin, a bow and a soft case, completing an excellent introduction for younger students who want to find out if the violin is the instrument for them. The smaller size of this model is ideal for children aged around 8 while the body is made from solid spruce and maple and even features fine tuners.

1/2-Sized Violins

Players with an arm length of around 53cm will feel comfortable with this 1/2-sized violin. The arm length is measured from the middle of the palm to the neck, directly below the jaw. The length is important because your hand should be able to curl comfortably around the neck of the instrument, with the fingers pointing towards the body and the elbow slightly bent. If you're picking between two different sizes and are unsure which will fit, then it's wise to go for the smaller model. While '1/2' implies that this violin is half the size of a full-sized violin, the size difference is actually much smaller.
