An expanded edition of the coveted Special 6, the VHT Special 6 Ultra combo amplifier comes with the thoughtful addition of a wattage switch, where the power can be pulled all the way back from 6 Watts to just half a Watt, so you can enjoy full and lush high-gain sound at a more sociable volume level. By fitting an extra preamp tube, VHT have also give the Special 6 Ultra an extra dose of preamp gain when compared to its little sister, which teams up with the mounted 12 inch VHT ChromeBack speaker to craft warms cleans, screaming leads, and an epic, powerful crunch.
The VHT Special 6 Ultra Combo: Deep Control
Under the bonnet of this combo lies a hand-wired 'eyelet board' and the 6V6 power amp valve can be easily replaced, immediately setting it up for easy modding and accommodating more adventurous, experimental guitarists. Besides a familiar set of control pots, the Special 6 Ultra also offers a Depth pot for tweaking the low-end to fit your particular sound and style, while your go-to stompboxes can be smoothly integrated via the buffered effects loop. Boutique-style design, deep-diving control, and matching sound complete a highly adaptable valve-powered amp.
