General
When looking for a digital piano, the feel and the sound are the most important considerations for most people. If you're looking for a compact model too, Roland's FP-10 ticks all the right boxes. You can find other digital pianos in this price range, but none that have the same level of sound quality. That's down to the SuperNATURAL sound engine that gives you highly-realistic piano sounds. The FP-10 has two impressive-sounding 6-watt speakers on board, but you can always plug in a set of headphones whenever you like too. For an even more authentic piano playing experience, a separate base is also available for purchase.
Roland FP-10: Keyboard
The FP-10 has a PHA-4 Standard keyboard with 88 touch-sensitive keys that weighted just like those on a real piano. They detect every nuance in your playing and transfer that to the sound engine so that you hear the same subtle differences in tone and dynamics as you get when playing an acoustic piano. The FP-10 is the smallest model in Roland's FP series which means it's the most portable too. It weighs just 12.5 kg and measures 1284 x 258 x 140 mm.
Roland FP-10: Possibilities
The headphone socket doubles as a line output and the FP-10 also has Bluetooth and MIDI on board. This means you can easily connect it to different devices as well as a computer to use it when working with a DAW program, for instance.

I had a Roland stage piano many years ago and was looking for something similar which I could play at home but was easily transportable to take to friends /gigs. This is a great keyboard, light enough to carry and with a lovely piano tone. Although the speakers aren’t as powerful as the FP30 they are perfect for home or even a small venue. There’s some good keyboard settings including grand piano, electric piano, jazz organ, split keyboard and if you download the Piano Partner2 app you can access even more (the acoustic bass is great when you want to create a walking bass line accompaniment over a piano melody). Ordering online with Bax Music was easy and straightforward, great prices too (a lot cheaper than elsewhere). Communication about my order was great and it arrived in good time before Christmas. Overall I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend Bax Music for your musical requirements.

I’m a beginner and this is my first digital piano. I bought this one after looking at lots of reviews online, and I’m very impressed with it.
The keys feel like an acoustic piano - I think the white keys are made of synthetic ivory, so they don’t feel at all plasticky.
It sounds exactly like an acoustic piano to me, but I’m not experienced enough to be able to hear any nuanced differences.
It comes with about 15 different sound settings (harpsichord etc) which seems ok. I’ve not really used the different settings too much.
One downside I have found so far is the Roland App - I can’t make any sense of it! I’ve tried a demo version of the FlowKey App instead and this seems to suit my way of learning. It’s a shame Roland doesn’t have something similar, as the paid-for version of the FlowKey App is quite pricey. Maybe I’m missing something with the Roland App. I tried it for a bit but gave up after a while.
The other thing to note is that the FP-10 only has one pedal (it has a basic one in the box, but other reviewers have suggested upgrading it - even with an upgrade, it still only works with one pedal). This is ok for me, but I imagine would be a problem for more advanced users.
Overall, for the price it’s a really impressive digital piano and I would definitely recommended it. I’m very pleased with it.

Dit is echt de perfecte piano voor beginners en gevorderden. Ik heb de piano nu 1 jaar, bevalt mij echt goed. Het geluid is echt prachtig, klinkt als een volwaardige akoestische piano. De gevoeligheid van de toetsen kan je instellen via een app, met de app zijn de opties met deze piano echt eindeloos. Min punten tot nu toe nog niet gevonden! Ik zou het echt iedereen aan raden!!

Zo’n 4 weken terug deze elektrische piano uit de b-stock aangeschaft vanwege pianolessen. De doos en piano stonken naar rook, vanwege luiheid, het feit dat dit iets wegtrok (alleen nog te ruiken met me neus op de toetsen, die houding heb ik gelukkig niet heel vaak) en de levertijd van 5 weken voor een nieuwe besloten om hem niet terug te sturen. Qua functies en speelgemak ben ik tevreden. Voelt zwaarder aan als een normale piano, maar niet vervelend. Ben nog niet uitgebreid in de opties gedoken, gebruik hem alleen als piano. Misschien in de toekomst als midi.

Een kleine piano met grootse pret!
Dankzij de tip van een behulpzame medewerker bij Bax Amsterdam Bijlmer (hulde!) hebben we deze piano aangeschaft voor onze dochter. Hoewel het officieel een digitale piano is, lijkt zij het vooral te beschouwen als een racebaan voor speelgoedauto’s en een uitstekende plek om haar lunch op te parkeren.
De klankkwaliteit is indrukwekkend – de SuperNATURAL-engine doet zijn naam eer aan. Zelfs een peuter die willekeurig toetsen ramt, klinkt ineens als een avant-garde componist. Het formaat is ideaal: groot genoeg om serieus op te spelen, maar klein genoeg om niet per ongeluk als eettafel gebruikt te worden.
Minpuntje? Zonder onderstel ziet hij er een beetje uit alsof we een high-end toetsenbord op een IKEA-tafel hebben gezet. Maar hé, voor een portable piano in deze prijsklasse is dat een kleinigheid.
Kortom: onze dochter leert, wij genieten, en de buren zijn eindelijk stil geworden over die keer dat we een drumstel kochten. Absolute aanrader!

Minimale omvang zorgt dat je zelfs met weinig plaats een goede electronische piano in huis kunt halen. Super realistische, misschien wat zwaar aanvoelende, hamer-simulatie achter het klavier. Verbazend eerlijk gezegd voor z'n relatief lage prijs en kleine afmetingen. Zit een partituur houder bijgeleverd. Het beperkte wattage van de luidsprekers stoort me niet, had zelfs zonder speakers mogen uitgevoerd worden wat mij betreft. Klankbron is meer dan voldoende als je net als ik bijna uitsluitend met een hoofdtelefoon aan speelt. Het enige minpuntje vind ik de klank bij het spelen van een akkoord in het 2de octaaf onderaan, dit klinkt minder in-tune in vergelijking met de rest van de klankbron.
