General
Tongue drums are great musical instruments that are intuitive to play. Both tongue drums and handpans come in various scales and tuning, where each scale or tuning represents a particular feel or emotion. As such, they're often used for music therapy, meditation and yoga, but can just as easily be played by those without music-playing experience. It is however the case that certain scales and tunings are more difficult to play, and this A Integral model is mainly aimed at more experienced players. While it's suitable for beginners as well, it can be a little trickier to find your way around this particular model due to the range of notes it offers.
RAV Vast A Integral tongue drum
Home to the following notes: A2, C3, E3, F3, G3, A3, B3, C4, E4, the A Integral tuning is one that's often associated with Native American culture, and it's a great scale for meditation. This tongue drum has a warm and mystical sound that you can take in two directions depending on the root note you decide to play: major or minor. If you want to get a better idea of what it sounds like, have a look at the included video.
Combining Tongue Drums with Other Instruments
Thanks to its tuning, this tongue drum combines beautifully with guitars, violins, and, of course, other tongue drums - especially the D Major, C Golden Gate and D Celtic Minor models RAV Vast make. Blending the sound of this A Integral model with that of a tongue drum in E Low Pygmy makes for an enchanting combo as well, even if takes a fair bit of experience to pull that off.
