General
The Sony MDR-DS6500 wireless Hi-Fi headphones add an extra dimension to your listening pleasure! Its 7.1-channel digital Surround Sound produces a very spatial sound. A pair of accurate 40 mm drivers are responsible for the effective 3-dimensional audio reproduction. Thanks to cinema, game and vocal modes you will always be able to enjoy a precise sound. You will be able to enjoy a healthy dose of mobility while you are working with your home entertainment.
MDR-DS6500: various connectors
This extensive headphone system can be connected effortlessly to your tv, DVD or BluRay player, gaming console and other equipment with analogue or digital optical connectors. The base station has various connectors, among which an optical digital input. An optical cable is included so that you can get to work with this connector instantly. The base station is also equipped with analogue connectors.
User-friendliness and wearing comfort
The transmitter in the base station sends the audio signals over a maximum distance of 100 metres to the headphones. The MDR-DS6500 has a long battery life of 20 hours. You can easily recharge your battery by placing it on the transmitter station. Moreover, you will be able to enjoy your films and music for hours on end, as the adjustable headband and soft ear cushions ensure your comfort.

Bought elsewhere (overseas).
Terrific sound for the likes of Lord of the Rings; quite stunning detail.
One drawback; the wafer-thin faux leather covering on the earpieces
starts to disintegrate after only six months or so of moderate use -
although they can still be used.

1st class service from Bax - received the headphones 2 days before estimated delivery dateand Item was well packaged and at a great price.
I Set these up with the optical cord from the base to the TV - and so far have tested the sound from tivo box and netflix - and sounds were a little better than the 2.1 soundbar I have - main plus for this being I can now listen to these options without annoying my neighbours, for me the Biggest plus for these headphones is when u play a blu ray - i tested them with the movie (Sicario) and they blew me away with the sound detail from hearing the bullet casings hit the floor to footprints on the gravel.....I will now be watching my blu ray collection again using these headphones -----simply AMAZING SOUND.

Bax service is excellent and you can track delivery, which for these headphones, arrived within a couple of days from Europe to UK on the day offered by Bax. It's always a little risky if you have been unable to look at or try a product before purchase and the Sony DS6500 was selected from reading reviews of surround headphones, of which there aren't that many. They are certainly comfortable to wear and are adjustable. So far I have only used these headphones to watch a movie via the optical output from a Virgin Tivo box and the experience was impressive. Dialogue is clear, even with helicopters or explosions whizzing around your head. You can also go and put the kettle on without missing the action. There are different settings for Dolby Digital cinema and stereo music but I haven't been as impressed with the latter to date, though this might be more related to the source. There are more options to explore but for movies alone I would recommend this product and at a great price from Bax.

Ordered these wireless surround headphones on Sunday 12/6/16 and they arrived today Wednesday 15/6/16 which I thought was really fast shipping, especially since I'm in the UK and the headphones came from Holland. I connected the analogue in to my Pioneer VSX-1123 receivers headphone socket and the sound quality is very good indeed. The digital in I connected to my LG blue-ray player and watched Avatar 3D in DTS HD Master and it was breathtaking. I could hear every sound and the dialogue was so easy to hear even when explosions etc were loud.
If you're after some great sounding 7.1 wireless headphones that can actually decode both Dolby digital and DTS, then look no further!

Sound quality is brilliant and the fit very comfortable but not used to wearing phones for long periods.A little disappointed that I couldn't connect to my AV amp with audio cables or opitical cable as there were no audio outs.Connected eventually to amp via headphone socket and blu ray player via optical cable.

J"utilise ce casque depuis trois ans, cest du pur bonheur, limmersion est totale, on se croirait au cinéma, sans déranger les voisins. Seule ombre au tableau, la fragilité des coussinets qui se détériorent, dans mon cas après trois ans. Dommage, sans cela cest un sans faute!

Ottima cuffia e pagata al minimo prezzo disponibile online (e in negozi fisici); non si sente alcun rumore di fondo, la cuffia è leggerissima e comoda. Particolarmente utile nel mio caso la possibilità di usare l'input digitale ottico con cavo toslink in dotazione!

Collegando il diffusore cuffie al mio televisore Sony tramite un filo con terminale minijack ottengo un buon suono,moderatamente stereo.Collegando col cavo digitale ottico il televisore o anche il decoder SKY non si ottiene nessun suono.Lo stesso accade se si collega il televisore tramite cavo a due terminali inseriti nelle uscite R-L.
I miei tentativi di migliorare eventualmente il suono con questi collegamenti alternativi sono quindi falliti.

Väldigt effektfull Surroundeffekt i hörlurarna!
Dock saknas möjlighet till att öka basen i lurarna vilket är ett minus.
Den har optiskingång, men saknar coax tyvärr...
