At Ibanez, they carefully studied the original resonator guitars from the twenties and thought about how to equal their exceptional sound. The Ibanez RA200BS is the result of Ibanez's exceptional effort, in that it looks and sounds like a traditional dobro.
The sound of a resonator guitar depends heavily on the quality of the metal cone. Ibanez made the cone for this guitar using laser technology, creating a resonator cone with a unique loud sound and clear trebles.

Brown sunburst on a mahogany body

Not only does this resonator produce the characteristically loud sound of the classic ones, Ibanez also made sure that the RA200BS looks exactly like the instruments from before the dawn of the amplifier. This guitar has a brown, high-gloss sunburst finish. It has a body made of mahogany, which is a type of wood with a density that ensures added depth to the sharp sound of the metal resonator. Additionally, it sports beautiful ash bindings.

Bridge mounted on a spider unit

The bridge of this guitar is mounted on a so-called spider, that transfers the string vibrations to the cone, which is a bit like how a modern speaker works. Subsequently, the sound traverses into the world from two round sound holes that are covered with metal grilles. As the mahogany neck is rounded, this guitar allows you to play it while standing up. The flat fretboard ( 0 degree radius) sports rosewood inlays and 19 frets. Moreover, this guitar is pre-fitted with a set of D'Addario EXP16s ranging from .012 to .053, and it's fitted with an 80/20 bronze coating for an extra-traditional sound.
