The Denon DJ SC6000 PRIME is a professional tabletop DJ media player that can even be used as a standalone unit, making it the ideal player for your DJ booth at clubs, festivals, or simply at home. Driven by the ENGINE OS, which probably comes as no surprise, and fitted with a never-seen-before 10.1-inch touch screen, the SC6000 comes packed with numerous, nifty features.

The SC6000 PRIME: Touchscreen Workflow

Not only does it hold the title as the biggest touch screen ever seen on a media player to date, it's also one of the most advanced of its kind. Use it to navigate, search, load entire music-filled libraries or create custom track lists via the on-board 'crate-management'. In addition, it's possible to adjust the waveforms to your own liking and even carry out an internal analysis of the tracks that have been loaded in via software such as Rekordbox and have bypassed the ENGINE OS. The touch screen also gives you access to Dual Deck functionality, since the SC6000 has both digital and analogue outputs for a perfect '2-decks-in-1' set-up.

Playback Options Galore

The Denon DJ SC6000 offers a boatload of playback options. You can use the three USB ports or single SD-card slot to set up your library, or store your files on the 2.5-inch internal HDD. The SC6000 supports FLAC, ALAC and WAV formats, as well as wireless music streaming via Wi-Fi with support for TIDAL (*More streaming services will follow after future updates). Oh, and did we mention this PRIME Series media player also conveniently shares its internal HDD with other players in your set-up?

The Lay-Out

When it comes to the lay-out of the controls, Denon DJ builds on previous successes. There's an 8.5-inch jog wheel sitting proudly in the middle, which has seen sensitivity and adjustability upgrades and is now even better for scratching, back-cueing and nudge-pitching. It constantly keeps you up to date with information on deck status, time and loop length and the LED ring colour can be freely set. The jog wheel is surrounded by customary pitch faders and touch-sensitive performance pads for the hot-cue, loop, roll and slicer functions. Moreover, the SC6000 is packed with a handful of practical and fun tools including the Key-Shift for easy harmonic mixing.
