The SKB 3RS Series Static Shock Rack 14U is a complete 19-inch rack flight case designed for serious use. Think of touring, hire and AV installations where sensitive electronics are constantly on the move. The rotomoulded LMDP (Linear Medium Density Polyethylene) casing is lightweight yet exceptionally strong. What’s more, the case is shockproof, watertight and dustproof, as well as being heat- and chemical-resistant. Thanks to its MIL-STD 810H rating, you can transport your rack gear with extra confidence, even if the journey isn’t exactly gentle.

Shockmount protection and high load capacity

The interior is designed as a shock-mount rack with 8 elastomeric shock absorbers. This dampens shocks and vibrations during transport, which goes a long way towards protecting your equipment and connectors. The standard payload ranges from 40 to 150 lb, suitable for many common 14U racks containing processing units, wireless systems and power distribution units. If your set-up is heavier, an optional upgrade to 160 to 300 lb is available. This is a special order option and must be installed by SKB to ensure the shock-absorption system continues to function correctly.

19-inch standard, rails and practical tour details

The rack width is 19 inches in accordance with EIA/ECA-310-E, and it comes with square-hole rack rails. This allows you to use both #10-32 (US) and 6 mm (international) cage nuts; these are included. The rail-to-rail depth is 24 inches (measured at 23.75 inches) and, with a 2-inch-deep front lid and a 5-inch-deep rear lid, you have extra space around your equipment. It is also fitted with edge castors, 8 spring-loaded comfort-grip handles, stacking ribs/lugs, coupling straps, gasket-sealed lids with lid hangers and an automatic pressure relief valve.
