The SKB Removable Shock Rack 4U is a professional transport case designed for the safe transport of sensitive 19-inch rack-mounted equipment. This 3RR series shock rack is lightweight yet built for heavy-duty use: shock-resistant, waterproof and dustproof. The interior consists of a removable rack frame with 4 rack units and a rail-to-rail depth of approximately 24 inches, allowing you to neatly mount and protect many standard processors, interfaces, splitters and other electronic equipment during transport.

Shock absorption and 19-inch rack standard

The case is rotomoulded from LMDP (Linear Medium Density Polyethylene) and complies with MIL-STD 810H. Inside, 8 elastomeric shock absorbers isolate the unit from impacts and vibrations, with a standard payload range of 40 to 150 lbs. The rack width is 19 inches in accordance with EIA/ECA-310-E, and the square-hole rack rails are compatible with both #10-32 (US) and 6 mm (international) cage nuts; these cage nuts are supplied as standard. For heavier payloads, an upgrade to 160–300 lbs is possible, but can only be fitted by SKB.

Ideal for touring and set-up

This shock rack is designed for quick on-site set-up. The rack frame features a patented ‘positive lock’ latching system and slides open like a drawer, giving you full access to your mounted equipment. The frame is also fully removable for bench integration. The case features a 2-inch-deep front lid and a 5-inch-deep rear lid for equipment deeper than 24 inches. You also get, amongst other things, edge castors (wheels), 8 spring-loaded comfort-grip handles, an automatic pressure-relief valve, gasket-sealed lids with lid hangers and coupling straps to secure stacked racks.
