SKB Removable Shock Rack 5U 19-inch flight case

General

The SKB Removable Shock Rack 5U from the 30-inch 3RR series is designed to protect and transport sensitive 19-inch rack-mounted equipment. The robust rotomoulded case is made from LMDP (Linear Medium Density Polyethylene) and meets or exceeds the MIL-STD 810H standard. This means the case is not only impact-resistant, but also waterproof, dustproof and resistant to heat and chemicals. Ideal for touring, hire and AV applications where you need to transport your equipment safely and professionally.

Removable shock-mount construction

The rack chassis slides out of the inner rack frame and is fully removable. This makes set-up, integration and maintenance a breeze: simply remove the chassis and you can connect everything neatly on the workbench. The chassis is secured via a (patent-pending) ‘positive lock’ system with two die-cast latches at the front. The eight elastomeric shock absorbers ensure that shocks and vibrations are efficiently isolated. The standard payload is 40 to 150 lb; an upgrade to 160 to 300 lb is available as a special order (installation by SKB).

Ready for touring and stacking

The case is 30 inches deep from rail to rail and has the standard 19-inch rack width in accordance with EIA/ECA-310-E. Thanks to square-hole rack rails, you can use cage nuts in #10-32 (US) or 6 mm (international); these are supplied as standard. For extra space, there is a 2-inch-deep front cover and a 5-inch-deep rear cover, which is useful for rack equipment longer than 30 inches. With 8 spring-loaded handles, edge castors, stacking ribs/lugs, lid hangers, a pressure relief valve and coupling straps, this is a robust transport solution.
