General

The Devine Artis B12A is a real all-rounder. This active subwoofer can lend a fat fistfull of bass to most setups, is fully adjustable and at 300 Watts RMS, can shake the floor of any small venue, pub or party. The maximum sound pressure comes in at 127 dB so you're assured of more than enough warm, transparent bass for your buck and, with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 120 Hz, the Devine Artis B12A can handle the kind of deep-diving bass that will literally shake the room.

The Devine Artis B12A: Active Sub

The intensity of this sub can be tamed by tweaking the controls of the integrated amplifier. A single knob determines just how heavy the bass gets while a fitted ground-lift switch ensures clean, hum-free sound. A distance rod can be mounted on top of the housing via the standard 35mm flange so that the B12A can be coupled with a full-range satellite speaker for a complete set up.

Devine Artis B12A 12-inch Active Subwoofer, 300W

Ordered two and they arrived promptly. Bizarrely the mains cables took a day longer to arrive than the speakers. The speakers are compact and solid and appear to be well made. The sound is okay, however the speakers (both of them so unlikely to be a fault) give off a high pitched audible whine (no, it isn't a ground-loop it), through the speaker and down the chain to other devices connected to XLR out, which is pretty annoying and audible when the music is at low volume. I think a bit more should have been spent on the amp components or design, possibly a low pass filter between the amp and the driver. You can buy a QTX 400W filter for about £10, which if installed in the cabinet resolves the audio whine problem through the speaker but does require disassembly and I would guess *invalidates warranty*. However pretty pleased with them with this modification, good bass and kick and silent in operation now.

Devine Artis B12A 12-inch Active Subwoofer, 300W

Het vermogen was toch te klein voor mij, hij ging bijna voortdurend in clipping;
Terug naar BAX gebracht en de Devine Artis B15A in de plaats aan gekocht;

Devine Artis B12A 12-inch Active Subwoofer, 300W

Devine Artis B12A 12-inch Active Subwoofer, 300W

Devine Artis B12A 12-inch Active Subwoofer, 300W

(Baxshop?)
