This 100 Watt tube amp on the legend that is the ENGL E650 Ritchie Blackmore Signature. In 2005, it got it's first upgrade courtesy of Whitesnake guitarist, Doug Aldrich when EL34 tubes were added to the power amp along with a new EQ voicing. A year later, the same amplifier became the go-to studio amp of the greatness that is Gary Moore. The news eventually reached the ears of artists such as Jimmy Page, Ken Hammer, Vivien Campbell, Paul Stanley and Scott Gorham and after 9 years, ENGL thought it was about time they shared this well-loved beast with the rest of the world. ENGL E651 Artist Edition: 4-Channels of Pure Tube Pleasure
This ENGL E651 has a clean and lead channel both of which can be switched between Lo and Hi-Gain mode to give you a total of four gain levels. Step from pure clean all the way up to the renowned ENGL high-gain we all turned up for. Both channels share a 3-band EQ but can be individually toggled using the bright switch for the clean channel and shape switch for the lead channel, which flips from classic British mid-heavy tone to scooped metal-mids. Both channels have a dedicated volume pot but to push to the front during solos, there's a Master A and B option for two volume steps and a presence pot on the lead channel.
Extra Functions from a Footswitch
New to the ENGL E651 Artist Edition when compared to the E650, is the S.A.C. (Serial Amp Control) port to connect the incredibly flexible ENGL Z-9 footswitch (optional). Control various switchable options, such as channel, hi / lo gain, bright, shape and master A / B hands free and enable or disable the built-in FX loop and new Noise Gate function, which can alternatively be controlled using the optional ENGL Z-4 footswitch or a Z-11 MIDI Switcher. You will also find five speaker outputs on the back for extensive set-ups of 1x 4 Ohm, 1x 8 Ohm, 2x 8 Ohm, 1x 16 Ohm or 2x 16 Ohm.
