If you're aching to showcase Eddie van Halen's most recent live sound, EVH offer the 50W 5150 III 50S Stealth Head for use on small to medium size stages. Following the release of the 100W 5150, this 50W version keeps things balanced while you kick things up a notch for a sugar-coated tube tone without too much added volume. In addition, the tube bias can be manually adjusted round the back and legendary guitarist Van Halen has gone with a rugged yet sleek Stealth finish for this remarkable signature amp head.
The 5150 III 50S: Three Independent Channels For True Tone Chasers
This full-blooded tube top puts three channels at your disposal; one clean one and two overdrive channels. This means you could use overdrive 1 for your rhythms parts and the second for the solos. Either way, each channel comes with its own EQ, volume and gain controls so any true tone chaser can dial in the specifics they hold dear. A 12AX7 preamp coupled with an American 6L6 power amp thrust that typical Brown Sound out of the amp head and, since there's an extra tube in the preamp, there's even more gain to experiment with.

The updated features on this version of the head of the concentric vol & gain controls for channel 1 fixes the issue with the shared controls on the prev version.
Clean channel is good and has that Fender flavour and also responds well to pedals.
Channel 2 can be dialed in for a mild crunch to good lead sound.
Channel 3 gives you the perfect Hi Gain sound.
Midi control and the external bias points are a welcome bonus.
The all black Stealth styling of the amp looks awesome!

Gelukkig is nog niet eens het begin om mijn gevoel te beschrijven. Ik had al jaren eerder op de EVH-trein moeten springen.
