The Devine MX-6 is a practical, compact mixer can be set up to serve in a wide range of audio-based situations, and provides four mono channels and one stereo channel. I bought this mixer as a sub-mixer for my small PA System. Noise levels are excellent providing you use it properly, the mic gains at the end of their travel do give quite a loud hiss but it is not a problem to stay below this level. The casing is metal which gives good screening but makes it quite heavy, this does make it feel solid and stop it moving around in use. There is an onboard MP3 player which takes over CH5/6 when in use, I think this would be very good for music in between your sets but a bit risky for backing tracks as there is no way of checking what is coming up next.
For the money this is a well featured mixer with most everything you need, the only things lacking really are Mute/Solo buttons on the channels.
