Sony’s Acid Music Studio 9 multi-track audio editor is a software package that makes mixing your music child's play! It offers an unlimited number of stereo audio tracks in 24 bit/96 kHz quality, giving you all the space you need to create. Whether you're working with an intimate combo on 8 tracks or an entire orchestra on 35, Studio 9 puts you in control. Thanks to an additional video track, you can also mix and edit music for films. What's more, it even comes with the TruePianos Amber Lite virtual piano plugin.
What's new?
For starters, Studio 9 allows you to hear incoming audio directly in combination with effects in real time, which is particularly handy for when you want to test out certain reverbs while recording vocals, for instance. You can also have VST and MIDI parameters (such as filters) automatically adjust during the project. To maintain a clear overview, you can group tracks into folders. With the new sections, you can group separate events, envelopes, regions, commands and markers so you can move them all together in one go.
The story of Acid
Acid products have been around since 1998. In those days, the software package became known for its easy, effective method for working with loops. You could adjust any loop according to tempo by means of automatic time-stretching without unwanted audio deterioration. This revolutionary technology made Acid extremely popular with producers and DJs in particular. Since then, this software has undergone some significant developments and is available today in various sizes and price categories. Acid, as well as the other editors in Sony’s assortment (Vegas, Sound Forge), is greatly appreciated by its users when it comes to a fast workflow and a user-friendly interface.
