General
The HD Express opens up the world of HMDI video for your Mac or Windows computer. HDMI connectors can be found on most of today's HD cameras and screen monitors as the technology supports a full resolution with pixel-by-pixel brightness without any video compression. This means superior video quality and colour depth compared to compressed workflows based on DV, HDV, AVC and other, comparable recording codecs.
What's more, modern cameras can stream outbound HDMI signals directly from their image sensors. This way, the compression chip is bypassed and the HD Express is able to receive a pure, uncompressed HD digital video signal.
