General

This bass guitar from Squier's Classic Vibe Series is a budget-friendly version of Fender's first bass guitars from the 1950s. This Classic Vibe Precision Bass '50s has the same characteristic looks as the original, including a Tele-style headstock and a white pickguard covering both horns. For even more convincing Fifties-style, this edition is given a classic finish that's transparent enough to reveal the beautiful grain of its pine wood body. In short, it's an excellently affordable bass for lovers of vintage instruments.

The Classic Vibe 50s Precision Bass: Sound and Finish

Typical for this old-school P-Bass is the single-coil pickup in the mid position. The slightly lower output of this pickup combines with the pine body and maple neck to produce a full yet mostly bright, clean sound. The hardware consists of vintage-style machine heads and a matching bridge with four adjustable saddles, and there's a finger rest below the G-string to finish what is a historically-accurate bass guitar.

Squier and the Classic Vibe Series

The most famous Fender models are the Stratocaster, Telecaster, Precision Bass and Jazz Bass. While many other manufacturers have built quite a few imitations over the past decades, Fender wanted to be able to offer beginners an affordable alternative themselves and back in 1982, introduced daughter company, Squire. Dit is een geweldige bas als je van een vintage sound houdt en van een rechttoe rechtaan no nonsens bas.
Doet precies wat hij moet doen.
Vanuit de doos meteen licht bespeelbaar na 1x stemmen.
Jammer dat er RoundWound snaren op zitten, maar dat is persoonlijk.
Slappen gaat trouwens als een zonnetje, maar dat is niet mijn stijl van spelen.
Ik houd meer van een rond knorrend geluid, Motown sound!

Ik was een beetje bang dat de single coil pick-up hard zou brommen, maar dat is helemaal niet.
Een fijne pick-up, lekker dynamisch en clean.

Wat een fijne bas. Het enige nadeel voor sommige mensen zou kunnen zijn dat je m nog eerst wel wat moet afstellen. Zoals de halspen om de nek af te stellen, zadelhoogte afstelling bij de brug, actiehoogte bij de topkam en de intonatie. Maar als je dit allemaal zelf kunt of iemand kent die dat voor je kan doen heb je een waanzinnig goed spelend en klinkend instrument in handen. Let op deze bas is niet te vergelijken met een split single coil precision bas. De sound van deze bas gaat heel wat dieper, ideaal voor reggae, classic rock, blues, motown, etc. Ben je op zoek naar een echt vette diepe bassound die erg goed in de mix van je band zit, moet je deze bas zeker eens proberen. Voor deze prijs kun je je ook geen buil vallen.
