This deluxe edition of the Electromatic G5422TG features unmistakable Gretsch sound and detailing, from the Classic Hollowbody DC body shape and the bound, fifties-throwback G6120 headstock, to the oversized F-holes, gilded hardware, and Gold Plexi pickguard complete with black logo. Your fret-hand is treated to the effortless comfort of a C-profile neck and familiar 12 inch fretboard radius, while the laminated maple body is supported by in-house-developed trestle block bracing: a construction first devised in the fifties to ensure efficient feedback reduction, enhanced resonant sustain and sweet acoustic twang.

The Gretsch G5422TG: FT-5E Filter’Tron Pickups, a GraphTech NuBone Nut & Bigsby B60 Vibrato Tailpiece

Classic Gretsch tone is supplied by a pair of FT-5E Filter’Tron pickups, supported by a versatile control layout complete with a master volume pot with a treble-bleed circuit to prevent loss of clarity and sparkle when the volume is pulled back. So, you're assured of full and versatile sound that never gets muddy. Optimal tuning stability is assured by a Graph Tech NuBone nut, a set of Vintage-Style open-gear machine heads, an Adjusto-Matic bridge, and just to truly polish it all off: a Bigsby B60 Vibrato tailpiece.

Eerste gitaar die ik online heb besteld, was al lang op zoek naar deze en heb hem binnen, toch spannend zo via de post maar het ging goed.

Wat een beauty; hij ziet er prachtig uit. Ik heb hem afgesteld zoals ik het fijn vind en hij speelt nu als boter. Wat me opvalt aan deze gitaar:

- De tuning en intonatie is echt perfect. Waar ik bij andere gitaren een gewoon 'G-akkoord' speel klinkt hij in tune, maar als ik dan een barre B speel dan klinkt de b-snaar en/of g snaar altijd een beetje 'sharp'. Dat is bij deze gitaar niet. Ik kan er niet tegen als er iets ook maar nét niet gestemd is, en hier kan ik hem echt perfect stemmen. Alle snaren klinken helemaal perfect in elkaar.

- Er lijkt een natuurlijke compressie en sustain op de gitaar te zitten. Als ik clean speel of met lichte crunch speelt hij toch alsof er een tubescreamer aanstaat met veel gain. Op de een of andere manier speel ik dan veel fijner. Bij andere gitaren ga ik 'clean' altijd wat geforceerd spelen omdat bends dan snel wegvallen en hammer-ons/pulloffs meer kracht nodig hebben, hier is dat niet nodig. Alle foutjes in mijn techniek worden verbloemd door het gemakkelijk fretten van de snaren en de enorme natuurlijke sustain.

- De bigsby doet wat hij moet doen en blijft gewoon in tune in tegenstelling tot andere berichten online. Gewoon licht wobbelen, fijne viben, niks aan het handje. Als je er met mach 3 op gaat duwen en trekken kan ik me voorstellen dat het niet in tune blijft, maar doe dat gewoon niet, koop dan een Steve Vai gitaar.

- Snappy, als je een snaar hard aanslaat krijg je een hele fijne snap/twang. Geen vervelende fretbuzz of iets dergelijks.

- Ook met duimplectrum en fingerstyle spelen gaat heel licht en fijn. Beide pickups aan, en de Chet Atkins-sound is daar.

Ik ben er heel blij mee, die perfecte tuning is echt heel fijn. Speel er rockabilly, fingerstyle, blues, rock 'n roll maar ook rock mee.

In één woord,… Klasse! Dit is een heel fijne gitaar. Enkel de brug een beetje in hoogte moeten verstellen en stemmen. Ze klinkt fantastisch en ziet er echt prachtig uit. Ligt comfortabel in de hand. Heel goed bespeelbaar. In combinatie met mijn buizenversterker een echt vette sound. Van akoestisch tot vette rock. Echt topgitaar!!

Erg fijne gitaar. Tot in het kleinste detail mooi afgewerkt. In stevige doos verstuurd. De nieuwe elementen in deze serie klinken fantastisch. Ten opzichte van de vorige serie weer een stapje vooruit. Klank is ongeëvenaard. Top service Bax
