General

Part of the D'Angelico Excel Series, the Gramercy features the tight playability and big sound of a grand auditorium body and all-solid build. For the most part, the Sitka spruce soundboard lays down warm and woody tone which is then filled out by the mahogany back and sides and injected with some light definition by the ebony fretboard. The resulting acoustic sound pulls back on the bass when compared to a larger-bodied dreadnoughts, enhancing note clarity and supporting finger-picking techniques as well as chord work.

The D'Angelico Excel Gramercy: Easy Does it

Keeping things simple, the Gramercy comes with a piezo pickup fitted beneath the bone saddle and a Fishman Sonitone preamp complete with a set of controls that have been discretely tucked away just inside the soundhole. Seamlessly adjust the volume and tone and enjoy immediately transparent and faithful amplification, while smooth and snug playability is assured by the C-profile carve of the neck, a set of twenty medium frets, a flat 16 inch fretboard radius and a deep cutaway.

Nog even als een B-Stock deze fijne gitaar gekocht. Zo zie je maar dat B-Stock hele leuke aanbiedingen kan hebben. Dat de gitaar super speelt en klinkt is geen verassing voor een D’Angelico.

Belle fabrication, bon matériaux, beaucoup de charme, du moins d’apparence et sur le papier, tout massif ect…
Elle est très joli , bien finie, agréable au touché du manche et à jouer, le son est clair et assez brillant , les notes bien marquées mais pour moi manque clairement de volume et de projection. Peut-être du au fait que je joue habituellement sur forme dreadnought mais un peu déçu par ce point je pense plutôt limite niveau volume pour s’accompagner au chant et clairement trop faible pour jouer à plusieurs en acoustique. J’ai préféré la renvoyer car elle ne correspondait pas à ce que je recherchais ( uniquement sur ce point) dommage …
