In meerdere winkels geweest om eens rond te neuzen en natuurlijk ook on-line wat info en reviews bekeken. Een paar merken trokken mijn aandacht: Seagull (kwaliteit), Harley Benton (prijs), Takamine (allebei) en Cort. De laatste was een voor mij onbekend merk, maar het schijnt toch een van de grootste gitaar producenten ter wereld te zijn. In eerste instantie voor de Takamine GN93-NAT gekozen. Een dag of 10 op gespeeld en uiteindelijk weer teruggestuurd. Het was hem net niet. Wel mooie kwaliteit en goed geluid, maar de hals was te smal (42.5 mm) en ik kon niet goed bij de hoge frets komen.
Dan maar wat meer geld uitgeven... gekozen voor de Cort Gold A6 vanwege de fantastische recensies op het Internet, de cutaway die ik miste op de Takamine en de wat bredere hals (45 mm). En, dit geloof je niet, op zondagavond besteld en de volgende dag om 13.00 al gebracht! Blijkbaar waren ze zondagavond laat nog aan het werk bij Bax. Hulde!
De Cort kwam perfect verpakt aan in de originele doos met een buitendoos er omheen. Natuurlijk direct uitgepakt en ik was bijzonder aangenaam verrast. Wat een ongelofelijk mooie gitaar is dit. De afwerking is 100% perfect. Geen blaasje, pokje of vlekje in de glanslak te zien en elke fret met de hand afgerond. De Cort Gold A6 wordt in China gemaakt en daar hoor je wel eens wisselende berichten over als het over de kwaliteit van de afwerking gaat. Nou, in deze fabriek hebben ze daar geen last van! Wat een supermooie gitaar is dit!
Maar dan het geluid, dat is het belangrijkste criterium. Nou daar hoeft Cort zicht niet voor te schamen. Een prachtig vol geluid met mooie bassen en aangename hoge en midden tonen (gelukkig niet zo scherp als sommige andere gitaren). De volledig massieve boven, onder en zijkanten doen hun werk perfect. En wat mij extra opviel: De setup was helemaal top! De actie was voor mij perfect, dus daar hoef ik niets meer aan te doen. Even tunen en je kan gelijk spelen.
Conclusie: Een absolute aanrader! Schitterende gitaar zowel qua geluid als qua afwerking en uiterlijk. Doet zeker niet onder voor gitaren die 2.000 euro of meer kosten, echt niet! En supersnel geleverd door Bax Music.
