General
The AMS Series audio interfaces by Zoom are mainly aimed at anyone who likes to keep things simple when setting up for high-quality live-streams or recordings. With the AMS-44, you can quickly switch between Streaming Mode and Music Mode using the dedicated switch. The first mode is perfect for live podcasts and merges all of the input signals into one so you can stay focussed on the stream. In Music mode, the AMS-44 singles out the inputs and sets you up with individual gain controls, allowing you to route two input signals to the same headphone output.
Loopback Function
Anyone who live-streams will know that not every audio interface comes with a loopback function. Fortunately, the Zoom AMS Series models do. Among other things, this function lets you combine incoming audio with outgoing audio, meaning you can easily play background music and talk over it during a live stream. What's also practical is that you can quickly select the microphone, line and Hi-Z input using the input selector switch to match the impedance, whether recording a microphone or an electric guitar. Want to record or stream stereo sound? That's no problem either - simply combine two inputs into a single stereo input and tweak the sound via a single gain pot.
