When Moog released the Minimoog back in the 1970s, it basically marked the beginning of conventional synths as we know them today. In the meantime, various clones and remakes have come and gone, but the real thing never completely left the scene. Now, it's back for good as none other than Moog themselves present the Minimoog Model D 2022 Edition.
Features of the Moog Minimoog Model D 2022 Edition
In case you're not familiar with the Minimoog, here's a quick run-down: the Minimoog is an analogue mono synth loaded with three oscillators, a noise oscillator and an external input. Any sound you slap up can be routed to a filter that has its own envelope, and to a VCA with a dedicated volume envelope. In addition, you get an LFO, aftertouch and a touch-responsive keyboard. While this set-up may seem basic, don't forget that the number of pop hits that wouldn't have existed if the Minimoog hadn't been around is actually mind-boggling. It's exactly this intuitively simple lay-out that allows keyboardists - past and present - to whip up fresh sounds in a heartbeat. That being said, the Minimoog is mostly renowned for its one-of-a-kind analogue sound.

Furnished with a warm wood-enclosed design and a pull-up control panel, the newest Minimoog comes polished off with DIN-MIDI which lands it firmly in the 21st century.
