Adding a crazy-complete, acoustic-focussed pedal to the Four Series, Zoom present the A1 multi-effect pedal. As well as acoustic guitars, this magic box can colour in the sound of other string instruments, including double basses and violins, and even wind instruments like trumpets, saxophones and harmonicas. Inside awaits a giant stack of more than eighty different effects, thirty-five of which are brand-new additions, each designed specifically for stringed, bowed and brass instruments. A maximum of five effects can be activated at once, so musicians can warp, mould and shape their own signature sound, and if you're miked up with a power-hungry condenser microphone, you can simply hook it up to the included MAA-1 Mic Amp before patching it into the pedal.

Even if you're not playing with a band, this pedal can back you up with one of the sixty-eight drum beats that come loaded in, or you could just engage the 30-second looper and create your own backing tracks from scratch.

Ik gebruik het toestel voor de harmonica, in tegenstelling tot andere effectenpedalen die hoofdzakelijk ontwikkeld zijn voor de gitaar, klinkt dit toestel goed in combinatie met de mondharmonica.

Zowel op de PA als op een versterker te combineren.

Prima geluid en mooie effecten. Bediening is onhandig. Overschakelen van looper naar effecten is niet te doen als je zingt en gitaar speelt, zou handiger zijn als er grotere knoppen opzaten. Nu lukt het alleen als ik mijn schoen uitdoe en met mijn grote teen de knopjes bedien. Handleiding is zeer beknopt, ik heb alles van internet moeten plukken over hoe hij werkt van mensen die er een studie van gemaakt hebben. Zoom zelf vindt dit blijkbaar niet nodig.
Zeer onhandig vind ik dat als je de drums aanzet en je een loop wilt inspelen hij de drums pauzeert en 4 seconden aftelt. Beetje vreemd als je aan het optreden bent en de drums ineens stopt. In het begin van een nr zou nog wel kunnen, maar middenin wordt het toch idioot. Je zou denken dat je met je drums al kan aftellen en geen 4 tikjes nodig hebt. Geen idee of je dit kunt veranderen, nergens kunnen vinden. De 4 tikjes van de looper zijn wel weg als je zonder drums speelt, zou beter andersom zijn.
Ten slotte kun je meerdere loops tegelijk laten meelopen maar kun je ze niet apart verwijderen, alleen allemaal tegelijk.
Dus nee, niet tevreden. Toch maar op zoek naar een betere versie.
