Omdat mijn basgitaarhoes eigenlijk aan vervanging toe was, ben ik opzoek gegaan naar een nieuwe hoes. Ik wilde dit keer gaan investeren in een goede, stevige maar een niet al te zware hoes. Zodoende ben ik op dit product uit gekomen.

Ik ben nog niet op pad geweest met de hoes, maar mijn eerste indruk is goed. De hoes is niet heel zwaar, wat ik als pluspunt zie. De binnenkant is zeer stevig en het headlock systeem ziet er goed uit.

Ik gebruik de hoes voor mijn Musicman Stingray. Nu moet ik zeggen dat het qua ruimte bovenin wel erg krap wordt (bij de stemmechanieken).. De hoes kan nog wel dicht, maar het is niet ideaal. Daarnaast vind ik het toploading design niet heel handig. Maar misschien is dit even een kwestie van wennen ;-).

Als laatste vind ik het opbergvak er leuk uit zien, maar voor gebruik lijkt het mij een beetje onpraktisch. Je hebt namelijk een heel grote opbergvak, wat je met een ritssluiting open moet maken. Daarover zit een grote flap, wat als omslag dient. Deze omslag maak je vast door middel van schuifsluiting. Omdat de flap erg groot is, is het voor gebruik niet heel ideaal. Misschien is lomp hier het goede woord voor.

Al met al geef ik dit product dus 4 sterren. Dit op basis van mijn eerste indruk. De hoes moet zijn dienst nog even bewijzen wat betreft zijn waterdichtheid, stevigheid en natuurlijk duurzaamheid. Ik ben benieuwd! Ik hoop in ieder geval dat het een goede investering is. De tijd zal het leren.
