General

The Ampeg BA-210 v2 has an RMS power of no less than 450 Watts, is fitted with two 10-inch woofers and a piezo HF driver and is the heaviest-sounding yet lightweight bass combo from the Ampeg BA series. This amp delivers nothing but pure, genuine Ampeg sound via the authentic preamp circuit. Switch on the Bass Scrambler Overdrive for a tasty, raw 'tube-like' overdrive. With the Ampeg BA-210 v2, your tone will not only be heard, but its presence will actually and very literally be felt.

BA-210 v2: Improved Design

When compared to the previous model, the design of the BA-210 has undergone some considerable adjustments. The controls have been shifted to the front panel, the electronics have had an overhaul and the housing has been given an asymmetrical shape so that it can be aimed at a 60-degree angle for more detailed and direct sound.

Pre-Amplification and Bass Scrambler Overdrive

The pre-amp is based on bespoke Ampeg development and design and enables extensive tone control. In addition to a standard 3-band equalizer, the Ampeg BA-210 v2 has an Ultra Lo and an Ultra Hi circuit. If the Ultra Lo circuit is activated, enveloping warmth is immediately noticeable, while enabling the Ultra Hi circuit injects high-end and attack by boosting all frequencies above 8kHz with five decibels. Kick in the Bass Scrambler overdrive circuit and degrade you sound with a deliciously classic, tube-like overdrive.

Ampeg BA-210 v2 Bass Guitar Combo Amp

Had in eerste instantie een Hartke KB15 besteld, maar deze was (en is) niet op voorraad bij Bax. Na wat rondgekeken te hebben in dezelfde prijsklasse voor dit combo gegaan, en ik heb er geen moment spijt van gehad! Wat een fijne combo. Kreeg met het eerste optreden met dit beest meteen complimenten voor mn geluid, klinkt lekker vol en gaat niet verloren in de mix. Heb je een 5-snarige bas en maak je je zorgen om de lage B? Niet met dit combo, lage B klinkt heerlijk vol en niet "boxy"zoals bij veel andere combo's. Zelfs op hoog volume, want daar schort het ook zeker niet aan. Heb er in een paar grote en middelgrote zalen met opgetreden (weliswaar met monitorsupport) en ik was prima hoorbaar op het podium. In de oefenruimte (met een Hammond orgel, gitaar en redelijke luide drummer) hoeft hij maar een kwart open en gaat al hard genoeg. Scrambler gebruik ik niet, daar heb ik pedaaltjes voor maar klinkt best aardig als je wat extra grit aan je geluid wilt toevoegen.

Kortom: zoek je een bascombo met veel volume en een goed geluid dan is dit echt een aanrader!
