General

The EMG P5 is an active ceramic split-coil bass guitar pickup especially designed for 5-string P-style basses or other models where this type of pickup also fits perfectly. Based on that popular P element for 4-string bass guitar, this 5-string pickup offers you a wide range of bass tones on your 5-string for numerous musical genres and playing styles. Thanks to its compact, wide magnets, this P5 delivers you both warm mids, deeply powerful basses and a clear high that is tight enough to cut through any mix. In addition, you won't be affected by humming and rushing noises, making your amplified bass sound at its best in any situation. Thanks to EMG's solderless wiring system, installation is incredibly easy and can be done at home without any technical knowledge, provided the pickup cavity is large enough.
