With the Zeppelin and Zeppelin Air, Bowers & Wilkins was one of the first companies to introduce wireless speakers. Surprisingly enough, it took them a while to come up with their first portable Bluetooth speaker, but the T7 definitely lives up to the highest expectations. The T7 is a pick-up-and-play hifi speaker with a perfect size for use in the garden, bedroom or kitchen, offering one of the most practical, functional wireless systems ever.
Design
Despite its modest dimensions, the T7 delivers sound to be reckoned with. For a speaker of such a compact size, it boasts unparalleled audio quality. Bass tones are usually tricky for small speakers, but Bowers & Wilkins' experts have come up with the perfect solution: bass radiators. These ensure an optimal balance between dynamics and rigidity, resulting in deep, powerful beats, kicks and bass.
Features
For the T7, B&W took the audio technology of the A7 and A5, and enhanced it. The T7's two 50mm drivers were designed to make the most of their limited space, and have been mounted in a steel basket, allowing for plenty of air circulation. The way the unit prevents distortion at high levels, by reducing bass output, is clever, but makes it a little underwhelming at higher volume output. At these levels, which are very loud for a small unit, can sound too tinny and a little uncomfortable for the ears.
The best range in my view is mid level where the bass is more noticeable (probably still a little less than you'd want) and the general clarity is at its best.
I have not heard other comparable models, i.e., Bose Soundlink and B&O A2, but I would recommend you listen to this in the flesh before purchasing. Remember, do not try and compare to a fixed unit, as you will be disappointed. If you want the flexibility to move it easily from room to room, or have outside for a small garden party, it is ideal. Life span of the battery is also remarkable.
In terms of space filling, it will be easily loud enough for a medium size room.
