If your installation isn't working, a faulty cable could be the problem. Use the MTEST-1 by Mackie to find out if your cables are functioning as they should. This cable tester has a 5-way switch that enables you to test each pin, even with adapter cables. Using the included testing pins, you can even check the signal between two random points. The MTEST-1 is suitable for the most common connectors: jack and mini jack, mono and stereo jack, XLR, RCA, Speakon, MIDI and banana jack.
