General
Deze aantrekkelijk geprijsde viool, die heel compleet geleverd wordt inclusief strijkstok en vioolkoffer, is de Scarlatti VL 1/2. De juiste keus als u eens een tijdje wilt kijken of dit geliefde strijkinstrument het beste instrument is voor uw zoon of dochter. De 1/2 is een maat die gebruikt wordt voor kinderen van rond de 8 jaar oud. Scarlatti VL-violen zijn uitgerust met fijnstemmers en hebben een klankkast die vervaardigd is uit massieve houtsoorten (sparrenhout en esdoorn).
De viool-maat 1/2
De maat 1/2 is geschikt voor kinderen met een armlengte van circa 53 cm. U meet dit vanaf het midden van de handpalm tot de nek, direct onder de kaak. De hand zou zich nu comfortabel om de krul heen moeten kunnen vouwen, met de vingers wijzend naar het gezicht en de elleboog heel licht gekromd. Bij twijfel tussen twee maten, neemt u het beste de kleinste van de twee. 1/2 betekent overigens niet dat deze viool twee keer zo klein is als een normale 4/4 viool; het verschil is veel geringer.
