De claves resoneren niet heel veel wat het lastig maakt om een hoorbaar verschil te maken tussen wel en niet gedempt spelen, zodra je eraan went lukt dit wel en biedt de hoge klank een leuke toevoeging aan elk muziekstuk, de claves hebben genoeg grip om alle controle te hebben maar ze laten wel kleine gecontroleerde herpositionering tijdens het spelen toe
