Designed by renowned amp builder, James Brown, the EVH Iconic Series 5150 EL34 Combo wields that legendary brown sound but costs nowhere near as much as a real vintage valve amplifier. Loaded with JJ ECC83S (12AX7) preamp valves and two matched JJ EL34 power amp valves, this 1x12 40-Watter pushes high-gain, British-style sound through a specially-designed Celestion Custom speaker.

The Iconic Series 5150 EL34: Two Channels, Four Core Sounds

Keeping things simple, EVH has outfitted this Iconic Series combo with two channels: a clean channel and a distortion channel. Both channels feature two modes that double the fun, where the overdrive mode of the clean channel adds a tasty raw edge to your cleans, while the burn mode of the distortion channel gives you a sweet little gain boost for your solos. To eliminate any unwanted noise, all you have to do is engage the built-in noise gate. To inject more atmosphere into your tone, all you have to do is switch on the reverb effect or plug your go-to stompboxes into the built-in FX loop.

The EVH 5150 EL34 also kits you out with a volume control and a 3-band EQ per channel so you can accurately dial in the specifics. You have up to 10dB of extra gain at your disposal to boost your leads, and the amp includes a footswitch so you can effortlessly toggle between settings mid-gig. Last but not least, you're looking at presence and resonance controls; a built-in attenuator that drops the output down to just 10 Watts; and an XLR output with speaker emulation and a power amp mute function.
