General

The Fender Bassman was originally designed as a bass guitar amplifier but this 45-watt tube combo with its four characteristic 10-inch speakers quickly became popular among guitarists. Many rock, country and blues guitarists fell for its stunningly full and dynamic sound, simple controls and reliability. The Fender '59 Bassman LTD is an authentic reproduction of the most coveted 1959 edition. Every detail has been taken into consideration, from its original tweed finish to the chrome-plated control panel, Jensen alnico speakers and even the included protective cover. You can now experience the legendary fifties Fender tube sound for yourself!

Fender ’59 Bassman LTD: two versatile channels

The '59 Bassman has two channels, Normal and Bright, the latter of which boosts high frequencies for a fiercer and clearer sound. Both channels have their own volume control and two separate inputs. You can use input 1 if you want an early distortion or input 2 (-6dB) for a clean sound. The tone controls are simple yet effective. A 3-band EQ consists of Treble, Bass and Middle plus a Presence control for adding extra sparkle to the sound. Like every tube amplifier, the '59 Bassman has an on/off switch and a stand by knob for cooling or pre-heating the tubes.

Dynamic and ideal for additional effects

At the heart of the '59 Bassman we find three 12AX7 preamp tubes and two 6L6 amp tubes that give this amplifier its iconic warm sound with a nicely distorted edge at higher volumes. These tubes are also loved for their dynamic qualities. They make them react to every nuance in your style produce different sounds depending on how hard you pick the strings. The user-friendly '59 Bassman makes for an excellent combination with stomp box effects, making it the ideal amplifier with which to create your own ultimate guitar sound.

Fender 59 Bassman LTD 45W 4x10 Tube Guitar Amplifier Combo
Wrote the following about Fender 59 Bassman LTD 45W 4x10 Tube Guitar Amplifier Combo

The Blackstar Artist Series: Classic and Versatile

Monday November 2, 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

Blackstar has gone from a newcomer to an established name in a short space of time. One of their greatest assets is the Infinite Shape Feature or ISF circuit (as it's otherwise known) that they developed themselves. With the ISF circuit, Blackstar managed to greatly increase the versatility of tube amplifiers without the use of digital technology. The new Artist 15 and Artist 30 models both have an ISF circuit fitted and can produce the typical American 6L6 sound, as well as beloved British AC clean and crunch.

The VOX VTX Series - Evolution Accelerated

Wednesday November 4, 2015 By Richard | Bax Music

It's already been more than 10 years since VOX turned the amplifier world on its head with the Valvetronix series. This series of amps combined digital modelling technology with convincing tube sounds. Since then, models have slowly but steadily improved along with digital technology. Now however, the time is ripe for VOX to introduce another series that, rather than show another slow and steady improvement, offer something more like evolution accelerated. Meet the VT20X, the VT40X and the VT100X, the first three models from the new series.

Wednesday January 20, 2016 By Lizanne

Renowned instrument colossus Roland first introduced their Blues Cube amplifiers back in the 1990's. The idea was simply to program a transistor amp to sound like a tube amp.
