Fender's 2x12 Hot Rod Deville is an extremely popular guitar amplifier and this fourth-generation has been given one or two extra tweaks in terms of sound as well as appearance. The pre and power amps remain the same, but there are now two 12-inch A-Type speakers by Celestion on board. The result of these is a better-balanced overall sound, most noticeable in the mid-range. Meanwhile, the low and high tones are slightly more rounded than before.

Hot Rod DeVille 212 IV: Richer Reverb and Overdrive with More Definition

The Hot Rod DeVille IV has its own internal overdrive that offers slightly more definition than previous models, but it's also possible to use your own effects pedals, of course. There's built-in reverb that sounds creamier than before and no matter how much reverb you apply, none of the rich sparkle is lost. Solid pine has been used to build the robust and lightweight cabinet and the panel and covering both have a textured surface. Finally, the new ivory-coloured, chicken-head knobs enhance this Fender tube amp combo's look.
