Latin Percussion LP552Z-D 12.5-inch Tumba (Natural Durian)

General

The congas included in the Latin Percussion Classic Series are known as the industry standard among percussionists. The newly developed Durian Series is a slimline version, carrying 25% less weight. The LP552-ZD tumba (seen on the far left in the image above) has a wider battering head for a lower tone, is larger than the conga and is designed to form part of a set including a conga and quinto for a full tonal range.

Sound

Durian wood is a South-East Asian wood species known for having a similar sound to that of mahogany. As such, the LP552-ZD tumba has a warm and full character that will easily sit on top of the mix during solos while offering more than enough definition to settle into the sound of the rhythm section of the band.
