If you're looking for a lower pitch (one step down, to be exact), then this 5.5-inch Latin Percussion LP228 is a great choice. It offers the same great quality as its smaller sibling, and it has a moderately dry sound that carries quite well. Furthermore, it's easy to attach to any 3/8-inch rod.
