The classical 5-pin DIN cable has been used for decades for the transportation of MIDI data from and to MIDI compatible hardware. Such devices can be keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, guitar effects and computers, for instance. In this category you can find universal MIDI cables or cables that have been developed specifically for a certain device or brand. Please note: 5-pin MIDI is the standard yet some devices require 7-pin MIDI. Nowadays, most instruments also employ USB connectors, which are called USB-MIDI.
