Presonus Studio One 3 Professional is the most comprehensive version of this exceptionally intuitive DAW software for PC and Mac. There's a 64-bit sequencer (32-bit is also supported) as well as countless tools, effects and instruments that make this package excellent value for money. The highly practical interface is easy to use so you can make full use of all of the functions offered. In addition to all of the drag-and-drop possibilities, there are exceptionally useful tools like Arranger Track and Scratch Pads that allow you to easily restructure song parts and try out new ideas. Once you've tried them, you'll wonder how you ever managed without them! There are plenty of reasons why so many music professionals are full of praise for this comprehensive multi-track program.
Studio One 3 Professional: Arranger Track and Scratch Pads
With Arranger Track, it's quick and easy to divide your song into sections and then restructure or double parts using the simple drag-and-drop method. That means no more annoying copying, cutting and pasting parts. Then there's Scratch Pads, a highly welcome and original concept that allows you to easily experiment with new ideas without touching your original material. It's possible to use multiple Scratch Pads and save them as part of your project. They're also ideal for creating alternative versions of your song.
FX Chains and Multi Instruments
It's possible to add VST 2/3 or AU plugins to Studio One 3 Professional should you so desire. The DAW already has all the effects you need to create a professional mix, however. The Rotor and Bitcrusher are new audio effects. In addition to those, the Extended FX Chains make it possible to set up the most complex effects chains for a totally unique sound. There are also a large number of sounds including the new Mai Tai synth and the Presence XT sampler. With the Multi Instruments function, you can layer virtual instruments without having to use double tracks. These are just a few of the many extras that the powerful Studio One 3 Professional DAW has to offer.

De eerste aanschaf was de RM32 AI mixer. Deze wordt live gebruikt om te mixen met band en tevens de individuele in-ear mix ( 8x stereo) te kunnen maken. Bij deze mixer ontving ik Studio one artist. Dit werkt fijn, aangezien ik in het verleden band-demo's heb gemaakt met garageband, kon ik de eerdere ervaring makkelijk gebruiken om te mixen.
Wat ik miste was een de-esser, de mogelijkheid om MP3 de bouncen en hier endaar wat effecten en de mogelijkheden in de geluiden.
Daarom overgegaan op de PRO versie van studio one. Alles ligt in handbereik. Samen met Notion aangeschaft, om ook arrangementen binnen studio one te gebruiken en daar direct samples van beschikbaar te hebben.
Alleen de sectie voor Mastering heb ik nog niet gebruikt.
-De integratie van Notion en Studio one is even ontdekken, maar werkt prima.
-Direct opnemen van live instrumenten werkt prima in combinatie met de Presonus RM32ai mixer als interface met microfoonversterkers.
-De effectplugins werken prettig en de presets zijn heel erg bruikbaar.
-De instrumenten zijn uitgebreid en goed in kwaliteit.
-Melodine Essentials is direct als plugin te gebruiken, waardoor ook ingespeelde (gitaar) partijen om te zetten zijn naar notion, om daar weer een ander instrument aan toe te kennen.
- een prettige workflow, de meeste mogelijkheden zitten op een plek waar je het intuïtief verwacht.
Het is niet voor niets, dat steeds meer producers aangeven van protools over te stappen naar Studio One.
Ik ben de blijk met de eerste aankoop van de RM32Ai mixer, zodat ik kennis mocht maken met deze fijne DAW. (ook vergeleken en ervaring met Logic Pro.)
