Three years following the release of the twelfth edition, Reason 13 is finally here and comes loaded with new instruments and effects plus various fresh features that help speed up and smooth out your music production workflow. Reason has been one of the big-name DAW titles for years and is known for the Reason Rack feature: a virtual 19-inch rack where you can slot in different virtual modules to build a bespoke system depending on the results you're after. Needless to say, with Reason 13, all of that just got even better.
What's New in Reason 13?
Reason Studios have piled on a fresh stack of virtual instruments and effects, as well as new presets, REX loops, samples and more. To ease the search for the right sound, instrument, effect or preset, Reason 13 also features a new browser with tagging support, doing away with the need to memorise the names of your favourite presets. The user interface has been given a new lick of paint too, which has resulted in the sequencer split view, allowing you to glance at the details of the track you're working on without pushing the arrange section out of view. All in all, it's safe to say that one of the best DAWs on the market delivers yet again.
