General
The Crossover is part of Hohner's Marine Band series, arguably the most played and recorded harmonicas of all time. What sets the Crossover apart from the other models is the comb, as it is made of bamboo. This gives a very clear sound. Because this wood is laminated, it is insensitive to moisture and will therefore not shrink or swell with a change in humidity. The instrument is very airtight and has a lightning-fast response at any volume. This makes it suitable for both acoustic and amplified playing. This one is tuned in Eb major.
Solid construction
Like the other Marine Band harmonicas, the Crossover has a construction of solid materials. The tuning plates are 0.9 mm thick brass and feature 20 reeds, allowing you to blow and suck on each of 10 holes. The stainless steel cover plates feature the attractive Crossover logo. This harmonica features Modern Compromise Tuning, giving it a good balance between fine, loose tones and full chords. This makes the instrument suitable for blues, but also for jazz, rock, soul and funk.
