Ever since the 1970s, the Special 20 Classic has been an immensely popular harmonica. Hohner managed to combine the perfect sound with a great, sleek design in this harmonica. As such, it's highly popular among professionals, but the Special 20 Classic is also a great choice for beginner harmonicists!
Hohner harmonicas are known to provide excellent quality thanks to the highly involved design process. All these instruments are made with the greatest care, and much of it is done by hand. For instance, Hohner employs people for the final check and tuning, as the experts say it's impossible to deliver a great harmonica if it's been entirely machine-made. As such, the Special 20 Classic is hand-checked for optimal sound quality and impeccable looks.
This particular model from the Special 20 Classic series is tuned to the key of G, making it ideal for playing along to music in D. The Special 20 Classic was one of the first harmonicas with an airtight plastic comb, which means the reeds won't start vibrating until you blow air through the instrument and allow them to react immediately. In short, the Hohner Special 20 Classic in G is a great harmonica that offers quick chords and rich riffs, even allowing for those classic bluesy bends.
