Hohner Thunderbird Marine Band Low Low F harmonica

General

Over the past 150 years, Hohner has successfully perfected the ultimate low-tuned harmonica, this Marine Band Thunderbird. It was introduced to the world accompanied by the slogan “Blowin' up a storm!” and is tuned to a low low F, which is suitable for music in Bb. This Marine Band Thunderbird produces delicious low tones that you simply can't achieve with a standard diatonic harmonica. Finally, its elegant, classic design is just as beautiful to behold as it is to listen to.

Hohner: still number one

With more than 150 years of experience under their belt, German brand Hohner knows exactly how to meet the requirements of professional harmonica players. Their biggest success was the original Marine Band, which was introduced in 1896, and is being manufactured in the same exact way to this day. This Marine Band Thunderbird is actually a variation on the original Marine Band which was enhanced to produce low tones in particular without the unwanted sound of rattling reeds or sacrificing volume. The Thunderbird features an improved reed profile and the revolutionary, patented, fully-sealed bamboo (3-layered lacquer) comb. The cover plates on this instrument are designed to prevent reed rattling, and the result is a full volume and a warm sound; everything you've come to expect from the high-quality, renowned brand Hohner!
