General
Allen & Heath have developed their dLive series to make mixing easy. The C3500 digital mixer is the most comprehensive model with 24 sliders and two touch screens. On the left-hand side of the screen, you'll see information pertaining to processing and on the right-hand side, you'll see the general status information, setup, memory management, and more. Because this is a digital mixer, the faders can be divided into six layers for a total of 144 different channels. In order to access them, you'll need a mix rack from the CDM series, which provides all the inputs you need.
Analogue options
Besides the set of mic/line XLR ports, the real power of the C3500 lies in the array of inputs and outputs on offer. For a start, a gigaACE link (RJ45) connection has been supplied expanding on your inputs and outputs - a serious advantage. What's more, this unit offers some other handy inputs like word clock for keeping everything in sync, an input for a DX expansion unit for even more inputs, and two network inputs for connecting the C3500 to your PC or creating an internet connection to mix with your tablet with the dLive Editor app.
Optimal workflow
Using the two 12-inch touch screens, you can easily create a familiar routine because you use the same movements as with your smartphone, so toggling from one menu to another is a breeze. In no time, you can assign your faders and add all the effects and loops you want. There are 19 SoftKeys on the right-hand side that you can assign as desired. You've also got an arsenal of equalizers, preamps, and compressors that can be called up in a flash thanks to DEEP processing. Last but not least, you can connect an external audio interface (Dante, Waves etc.) if you want to expand even further on your existing system.
