If the StudioLive series by PreSonus already sparked a flame in the hearts of professional users, imagine the blaze kindled by the StudioLive 24.4.2AI. This advanced digital mixer is flaming through on digital processing and connectivity. You can even control it wirelessly and make it the hub of your audio network via the PreSonus Active Integration architecture. The PreSonus StudioLive 24.4.2AI 24-channel digital mixer combines the feel of analogue and the flexibility of digital mixing. It comes with several software packs (including Studio One Artist) for a top-grade synergy between mixer and programs.
Active Integration
From a distance, the 24.4.2AI looks exactly like the non-AI StudioLive 24.4.2. On closer inspection, however, it appears that nothing could be further from the truth, as the 24.4.2AI is redesigned from the ground up! The key term here is Active Integration, as it ensures advanced communication between mixer and software, allowing for utter control over each function. Thanks to powerful processors and software, FireWire, USB and Wi-Fi connectivity, this AI mixer offers 64 times the processing power and 10,000 times the RAM memory of the StudioLive 24.4.2. In practice, this means that you can enjoy smooth mixing while being able to apply extreme effects and settings without being limited by the capabilities of the hardware.
Fat Channel
When going over the many built-in functions, you will see that this PreSonus is an amazingly compact device. For instance, each channel has a professional channel strip that uses only one section: the Fat Channel. It holds a compressor, a limiter, a gate/expander and a 4-band parametric EQ. All studio-grade, of course, and available for all 24 channels. It'll help you to use all of a channel's vital functions quickly, whether live or in the studio. Clear LED strips will instantly show you what the status of the effects is. The big advantage of digital mixing.
DSP and connectors
Of course, you'd expect a powerful effects processor, but PreSonus has really pushed the envelope on this mixer as it houses no fewer than four separate processors! No longer will you require auxiliary equipment to have a smooth effects selection. The 50 presets have top-notch reverbs and delays. What's more, you can freely program the mixer via critical parameters. The connectors of the mixer are on the back - there's an XLR, jack and insert jack for each channel. Naturally, there's a BNC connector for a lamp, so you can see what your doing on the edge of a dark stage, for instance.

Ik werk nu ruim een jaar met de 24-4-2 en kom uit de analoge serie van Allen & Heath.
Nooit zou ik digitaal gaan maar na een avondje stoeien is deze mixer vele malen makkelijker te bedienen dan een bv een X-32 .
Ik ben een echte knoppen man dus werk alleen met een i-pad voor de monitor mix.
Overigens doet mijn partner dat. Die is met de i-pad en monitor-mix een soort van tovenares.
Bij een X-32 moet je bijna voor alles in banken gaan, zelfs als je bij een kanaal de master harder wilt zetten.
Presonus heeft echt rekening gehouden met de ex-analoge mixer.
Tuurlijk respecteer ik ieders mening als het over een mixer gaat, maar prijstechnisch en wat ie kan, ben ik zeeeer tevreden.

Dsnake aansturen is ook heel vreemd, je hebt allemaal gain pots boven de kanalen maar die doen het prompt niet meer als je aan de Dsnake bent verbonden, je moet het kanaal selecteren en dan naar een bepaalde pagina in het kleine LCD schermpje navigeren om vervolgens de gain aan te kunnen passen wat echt in stapjes van 0.02dB gaat...
Vervolgens, als klap op de vuurpijl, ook nog een tegekke bank ongemotoriseerde faders! Wat inhoud dat wanneer je via een Ipad mixt tussen het publiek, je gewoon een kanaal 'kwijt kunt raken' daarmee bedoel ik dus: Je moet eerst de fader positie van het kanaal weer opzoeken met je fysieke fader voordat je weer kunt schuiven op de tafel zelf! Gaat je gegarandeerd een keertje tegenwerken tijdens een plotselinge rondzinger of solerende gitarist.
Als je een tafel wil hebben waar iedere gast tech helemaal de kluts van kwijt raakt, ga dan vooral voor dit maffe apparaat... Ik kan tenzeerste aanraden: een SiExpression of SiImpact (als je schermpjes wilt hebben boven de faders) of gewoon een X32(c) of M32(r).
Al met al is dit ding gewoon echt een NEE
