Allen & Heath QU-24 Digital Mixer

Since the Allen & Heath QU-24 is the QU-16's big brother, it's just as easy to use, equally perfect for studio as well as live mixing and has 8 additional channels. The QU-24 also features no fewer than ten programmable SoftKeys, a built-in USB interface, motor faders, a dSnake connector and iLive series effects.

QU-24: ease of use

The QU-24 has a clear layout featuring 25 ALPS motor faders, one for the master and 24 with a double function. While these primarily control channel volume, via a toggle switch, they also control the buses, FX sends and FX returns. A third fader configuration can be completely customised. The most important parameters, like gain, a parametric EQ, panning and dynamics can be adjusted for each channel via the SuperStrip section and using the clear multi-colour touch screen, you can read the values and enjoy access to additional parameters like routing, effect and system settings.

SoftKeys and iPad App

One of the most practical features of the Allen & Heath QU-24 are the SoftKeys. Multiple functions, like group muting and the opening and storing of Scenes, can be assigned to these programmable buttons. Furthermore, the Allen & Heath QU-24 can be remotely operated via your iPad and the special Qu-Pad app. Via Wi-Fi you have access to all live mixing parameters and settings.

dSnake and ME Personal Mixing System

The design of the Allen & Heath QU series is based on the much larger and more extensive GLD-80. The QU-24 has inherited its dSNAKE protocol from the GLD-80, for instance. It's therefore compatible with digital AR Snakeboxes and the ME personal monitoring system by Allen & Heath. Via this system, each musician or band member can adjust their own monitor mix.
