Have you had enough of large, unwieldy multi-cables? This AB168 digital audio rack by Allen & Heath is just what you need. The AB168 works as a multi-cable in combination with the digital mixers from the QU and GLD series by Allen & Heath. You need only run a CAT5 cable from your mixer to this audio rack, to enjoy the benefits of 16 input and 8 output channels. The AB168 is fitted with built-in preamps that can be controlled via the mixer.

Allen & Heath AB168: The User-Friendliness of a Digital System

To achieve an optimal signal, the preamps have been placed before the AD converters. These are fully recallable! You can patch the inputs and outputs on the connected mixer, without the need of changing cables. As the system is digital, you can bridge a distance of up to 120 metres, making it ideal for large productions or recordings.

Applications of the Audio Rack

The Allen & Heath AB168 can be used as a replacement for a multi-cable, but it's also suited for use in a larger system. In that case, you can use multiple audio racks in various places - one rack for a drum kit and the rest for the band, for instance.
