General

The Behringer SD16 is an I/O stage box with 16 remote-controlled Midas preamps, 8 outputs, EAS50 network functionality and an Ultranet personal monitoring hub. This stage box every live audio engineer's dream! The setup and installation is easy, and virtually all parameter controls are located on the console itself, including Midas mic preamps and +48V phantom power.

Ultranet for seamless integration

The revolutionary Ultranet technology makes a 24-bit digital audio and control data transfer possible via a single Cat 5E cable. What's more, Ultranet ensures zero RFI and signal crosstalk. Setting up this system is a piece of cake, and SD16's integrated Ultranet hub delivers phantom power via CAT5 to your P16-M monitor mixer without the need for an external power supply.

Flexibility

The Behringer SD16 is an extremely versatile 16 x 8 digital stage box with remote-controlled Midas mic preamps, Klark Teknik AES50 connectivity, and a broad range of functionality, all at a very affordable price. The SuperMAC technology gives the SD16 its high capacity and extremely low latency. Klark Teknik's engineers have worked closely with Behringer to make sure this SD16 meets every demand of today's live entertainers and their audio engineers.

Ik heb mijn studio verbouwd. De beide effecten racks stonden eerst vlakbij mijn X32 mixer maar staan nu een stukje verderop. Omdat ik geen zin had om alle XLR kabels te vervangen of te verlengen heb ik een SD16 Digital Snake gebruikt. Bax had er een als B keuze door een beschadigde verpakking dus dat was mooi meegenomen. De Snake was probleemloos aan te sluiten, de configuratie in de X32 was zeer eenvoudig en zo zijn 7 stereobronnen en een analoge Aural Exciter Big Bottom weer volledig operationeel via 1 x UTP kabeltje. Had ik twintig jaar eerder moeten hebben, samen met mijn X32 !

Een perfecte combinatie tussen I/O en een stageblock/snake, voor live en studio. Geen (zware) multikabels meer leggen of door de muur leggen. Je kan zelfs vaste de netwerkbekabeling gebruiken, met rj45-stekkers in elke hoek van de studio.
Spijtig dat er geen fantoom-ledjes op de SD16 staan. Voor de rest: geen opmerkingen.

Onwaarschijnlijk product voor de prijs; zeer betrouwbaar, zeer gebruiksvriendelijk en zeer veelzijdig. Midas preamps, jack/XLR-combi inputs en de mogelijkheid om via UTPkabel ook personal monitoring te sturen, maken het echt een zeer af bakje. Top! Voor deze prijs vind je niets dat nog maar in de buurt komt.
