General

Get the essence of Gary's stage sound with the KHDK Mad Monarch by Gary Holt. This versatile guitar pedal combines an extended preamp section - a nod to the legendary silverface amp - with a powerful drive section based on Gary's famous Paranormal sound. Thanks to separate controls for gain, bass, middle, treble, master and contour, you tune your basic sound razor sharp. In the drive section, you can add drive, volume and a mid boost to taste, switching effortlessly between subtle crunch and pronounced overdrive. Two internal switches complete your setup: adjust the output level for use as a standard effect on your amp's clean channel or as a standalone preamp, and choose between flat or maximally pronounced overdrive characteristics. In fact, this Mad Monarch is so practical that you just throw it in your backpack: plug and play on any stage.
