The Walrus Audio 385 Overdrive infuses zany humble guitar signal with the dynamic and responsive tone of a valve amp. Desperate for a truly pure sound, some guitarists, end up using the valve-driven audio section of an old film projector as a guitar amp (no kidding), the Walrus Audio team have put together a more manageable stomp-box shaped solution based on the vintage Bell and Howell 385 Filmosound projector. The much more compact result is an insanely flexible overdrive able to shape a wide ranging sound, and internally , this undeniably unique stompbox runs on 18 Volts so that it authentically reacts to your playing dynamics just like a valve amp would.
