Behringer DX2000USB DJ Mixer

These days a DJ set consists of more than just a microphone and some turntables. As a DJ, you are often required to give a complete multimedia presentation with a variety of audio platforms (vinyl, CDs, MP3) and several mics, just for one event! With that in mind, Behringer has launched the seven-channel DX2000USB, with built-in USB audio interface - an ultra-useful feature for any all-round DJ.

Behringer DX2000: Ins & Outs
If it clicks, turns or speaks, the DX2000USB can mix it in! This mixer features five double stereo inputs, two mono mic/line channels with ultra low-noise mic preamplifiers, gain control and clip LED. Besides, the DX2000USB has enough built-in phono preamps to accommodate three turntables. Thanks to the built-in USB audio interface you are able to use your computer’s digital music library as well.

Smooth Operator
It goes without saying that all these features that make the DX2000USB such a versatile mixer do not undercut the basic functions that a DJ mixer requires. The DX2000USB has super-smooth ULTRAGLIDE faders with up to 500,000 life cycles and an infinium optical VCA-controlled crossfader for utmost reliability and powerful audio performance.

Functionality
This mixer features a three-band kill equalizer and Gain control per channel. Mono channels have an extra Low Cut switch and an FX switch that routes the channels to the FX SEND and RETURN loop, so you can add some external effects. These channels, which are suited for both microphones and 6.3 mm line sources, also feature a Talkover button, a Channel On button and a PFL switch for headphone monitoring. Stereo channels have an Equalizer on/off switch, as well as a Crossfader button that sends the channel to the main stereo mix or the crossfader. An Assign button selects whether the channel is assigned to the X or Y side of the crossfader.

Even more connectors
For DJS who love a fat bass, the DX2000USD features an XLR subwoofer output (perfect for connecting to an active subwoofer) with adjustable Crossover Frequency and Level control. Directly above, there is a mono jack output for synching your music with a lighting system. The Main Output section offers jack and XLR stereo outputs, as well as jack inputs for connection to, for instance, external equalizers. The section also offers RCA outputs that enable you to record your set. Finally, there is a Monitor/Zone output available with stereo jacks and XLR monitor outputs.

Software
In order to complete your purchase, the DX2000USB comes with a free multi-tracking software download. If you want to record your projects, the energyXT2.6 Compact BEHRINGER Edition is available. This DAW (digital audio workstation) enables you to manipulate your audio and MIDI files, allowing you to turn your ideas into recordings that are fit for CDs or the internet. The software features a built-in synthesizer, which is directly accessible by means of an external controller or programmable by means of stepwrite mode.  A built-in drum machine and an internal multi-effects processor are also at your disposal. If you like to use old-school sounds, you can use the included Audacity audio editor to remove pops and clicks from your old vinyl recordings.
