Playing the djembe is often done in the open air, but unfortunately it can sometimes be rainy and cold. Traditional wooden djembe's cannot take this well, but the Toca TF2DJ-10S Freestyle II Rope Tuned djembe, Spirit 10-inch can. This is because the shell of this instrument is made of plastic and the 10-inch skin is made of synthetic materials. This means that fluctuations in temperature and humidity do not affect playability. The string tension ensures that everything stays tight. The name Spirit is a reference to the Rastafari movement and consists of red, green and yellow with black drawings.
